STRETCH

When’s Peter gonna get here?

              Hi Kids.

Hi Peter.

Hi Kids, You ready for a workout?

Yeah!

Okay let’s warm up and do some stretch exercises,

Spread out and do what I say, like follow the leader

But we wanna lead the stretches.

              Okay

Let’s stretch the leader - Yeah!!

I’m ready, what do we do?

Stretch up tall, up on toes, down

Up on toes, down, up on toes, down

Up on toes, down, up on toes, down

Arms up, arms down

Arms up, arms down - flap my wings!

Neck - look to the side, straight ahead

Other side, straight ahead

Ear to shoulder - one side, straight up

Other side, straight up

Breathing - in the nose, out the mouth

In the nose, out the mouth

Eyebrows up, eyebrows down

Eyebrows up, eyebrows down - make a frown!

Lips out, big smile, lips out, big smile

Eyes closed, open wide, closed tight, open wide

Open wide!

Shoulders - pull em up, let em drop

Pull em up, let em drop

Roll ‘em forward, roll ‘em backward

Roll ‘em forward, roll them back!

Hands on hips - twist one way, twist the other

Twist back, twist again.

Hands up, slowly touch your toes,

Take your time, bend your knees

And slowly come back up

Knees, squat down, stand up, squat down

              Don’t fall over!

Stay down, get on your hands and knees

Arch your back, other direction

Arch your back, other direction

Put your hands on the floor, put your feet on the floor

Put your butt in the air - okay

Now one heel down, now other heel down

Stretch the back of your legs

Scratch the back of your legs – scratch?

Walk your hands back to your feet

Slowly roll back up!  Ahh that feels good

Now some jumping jacks, here we go, ready

1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 8!

Okay!  We’re done.  You all warmed up?

Yeah!

              Okay, let’s start walking!

DID YOU WALK?

Does your body move

When you hear that beat?

Do you tap your foot

When you’re stuck in your seat?

Do you feel the groove?

Do you start to rock?

Do your feet say, “Hey!

Let’s go for a walk!”

Does your body move

When you hear that beat?

Do you tap your foot

When you’re stuck in your seat?

When you feel the groove

And your heart’s on fire

Do your feet say, “Hey!

Let’s walk with the choir!”

Does your body move

When you hear that beat?

Do you tap your foot

When you’re stuck in your seat?

When you feel the groove

Well that’s real good news!

And your feet say, “Hey!

Let’s walk on the blues!”

Does your body move

When you hear that beat?

Do you tap your foot

When you’re stuck in your seat?

When you feel the groove

Yeah you made the grade!

And your feet say, “Hey!

Let’s have a parade!”

Does your body move

When you hear that beat?

Do you tap your foot

When you’re stuck in your seat?

When you feel the groove?

You got ants in your pants!

And your feet say, “Hey!

Let’s get up and dance!”

GIGGLES SAMBA

Mrs. McFrown:

              All right!  That’s enough!

Head up!  Chin out!  Serious stuff!

This is not funny!  Cut that out!

Stop that laughing!  Don’t make me shout!

Excuse me please?  How old are you?

Save that giggling until we’re through!

Kid:       But we like to laugh!  We’re having fun!

We love to walk and dance and run!

Mrs. McFrown:

Well if you must!  Then laugh away!

There’s nothing more that I can say.

Peter:   C’mon Mrs. McFrown

I can see you’re almost smiling.

Just a little more, ... you can do it!

Mrs. McFrown:

              Well if I must, I, … I,… there!

              I’ve done it!  I’m smiling!

Kids:     Yaaaaaayyyyy!!!

DID YOU WALK THREE?(Instrumntl)

AFTER THE RAIN  (Instrumntl)

THE PRIZE

My team mates cheer me through

"Get out there and win it!”

“We can take them!  You can do it!"

But my heart’s not really in it

If I win, what's the prize?

Someone feels awful

You can see it in their eyes

If I loose, someone will say

That I can’t take the heat

So I don’t want to compete

I only want to play.

“There’s a lot at stake today!

But just try to do your best!”

Well it’s no fun to play

With all this tension in my chest

If I win, what's the prize?

When someone feels beaten

You can see it in their eyes

If I loose, it’s just a game

But it’s incomplete,

And I don’t want to compete

And I forget just why I came

Is it really that much fun?

They say the game was great

But even when I’ve won,

I still feel second rate

No one’s really better

We're all in this together

And if we stop comparing,

The world will be more caring

Then we all win.

That’s the prize

You can see it in our eyes

When no one has to lose

Or buy expensive shoes,

And no one has to cheat

And no one takes the heat

If we stand together and we say

We won’t compete this way,

Because, we all came here, ... to play.

That’s the prize

MY BODY RUNS

My body runs, my body goes!

I don’t know how, but my body knows!

How to smell and hear and see

How to move and sleep for me

How to eat and have some fun

I’m so glad my body runs!

(thump, thump! what’s that?! Oh!)

My heart runs, my heart goes

I don’t know how, but my heart knows

How to beat without a sound

How to pump my blood around

How to thump and have some fun

I’m so glad that my heart runs!

(heart thumping)

My lungs run, my lungs go

I don’t know how, but my lungs know

How to breathe and hold my breath

How to cough and run my chest

How to laugh when I have fun

I’m so glad that my lungs run!

(short breathing)

My legs run, my legs go!

I don’t know how, but my legs know

How to climb and crawl and dance

How t’fit my feet into my pants!

How to jump and have some fun

I’m so glad that my legs run!

(let’s dance)

My arms run, my arms go!

I don’t know how, but my arms know

How to shrug my shoulders with a jerk

How to make my elbows work!

How t’wave and hug someone!

I’m so glad that my arms run!

(wave ‘em!)

My hands run, my hands go!

I don’t know how, but my hands know

How to make my fingers snap

How t’wiggle, point and clap!

How t’work my opposin’ thumbs!

I’m so glad that my hands run!

(gimme five)

7. My nose runs, my nose goes,

I don’t know how, but my nose knows

It sniffs and wiggles, smells things sweet,

Smells things gross, like socks and feet

It smells the flowers and fresh bake buns

I’m so glad that my nose runs!

(sniff, sniff)

My mouth runs, my mouth goes!

I don’t know how, but my mouth knows

How t’chew and work my lips!

How to swallow, whistle, talk, and spit

How t’make my teeth just miss my tongue

I’m so glad that my mouth runs!

(let’s do some tongue singing)

My ears run, my ears go!

I don’t know how, but my ears know

How to hear what people say

Birds and music, that’s ok

They let me know when someone comes,

Yeah, I’m so glad that my ears run!

My eyes run, my eyes go!

I don’t know how, but my eyes know

How to blink and see the light

How to cry and squint and close real tight

How to shine when I love someone

I’m so glad that my eyes run!

(look at me!  I’m lookin at you!)

My brain runs, my brain goes!

I don’t know how, but my brain knows

Exactly where to grow my hair

How to pull ideas out of the air

How to organize everything at once

I’m so glad that my brain runs!

(quiet, I’m thinking!)

My stomach runs, my stomach goes!

I don’t know how, but my stomach knows

How to digest all my food

And sometimes, well,  my stomach’s rude

It hiccoughs, gurgles, burps, it’s fun!

I’m so glad my stomach runs!

(take a break stomach)

My body runs, my body goes!

I don’t know how, but my body knows!

How to smell and hear and see

How to move and sleep for me

How to eat and have some fun

I’m so glad my body runs!
